WACYL TEE-BALL/COACH PITCH/SOFTBALL !

WACYL's Co-ed Tee-Ball / Coach Pitch / Softball Season will be open, March 3rd and will end on March 17th, 2023.  No registrations will be accepted after March 17, 2023.  As a reminder, cash and personal checks will NOT be accepted.

Please spread the word in the community and be sure to follow us on Facebook to receive updates leading up to and throughout the season. 

WACYL programs are co-ed and follow an All-Play philosophy, geared to get all kids involved to improve their skill and promote the love and fun of the game. Registration for all programs will be $55.00, plus $20 per participant toward team shack snacks and a Sports Connect $3.00 service charge ($78 total).  

Our season will run April 10th through June 5, 2023.  Community volunteers are essential to our programs and will be needed. Please consider if you are willing to volunteer as a Coach or Assistant Coach for any of these divisions. No experience is necessary.  If you cannot make every practice/game please register as a volunteer anyways, we could always use extra help.  WACYL will provide NYSCA Training/Certification.  Tee-Ball:

• Clinic-Style Division, (with the Hope of Playing Some Games), open to grades Pre-K & Kindergarten **Must turn 4 years of age before April 1st**.

  • • Positively NO metal spikes are permitted.  If players are wearing cleats they must be rubber or plastic (Cleats are not mandatory) No boots, sandals, flip-flops, etc.

    • Players must supply their own Glove.  Supplying their own Bats and Helmets are recommended but are not mandatory as WACYL has spares.  

Coach Pitch: 

• Open to grades 1st and 2nd

  • Positively NO metal spikes are permitted.  If players are wearing cleats they must be rubber or plastic (Cleats are not mandatory) No boots, sandals, flip-flops, etc.

  • Players must supply their own Glove.  Supplying their own Bats and Helmets are recommended but are not mandatory as WACYL has spares.  

Softball: (NOT BASEBALL) Intramural and Co-Ed

• Intermediate Competitive Play Division open to grades 3rd through 5th

  • This Division uses a pitching machine

  • Positively NO metal spikes are permitted.  Players MUST wear either plastic or rubber cleats while playing on the field

  • Players must supply their own Glove.  Supplying their own Bats and Helmets are recommended but are not mandatory as WACYL has spares.

Softball: (NOT BASEBALL) Intramural and Co-Ed

• Advanced Competitive Play Division open to grades 6th through 8th

  • • We may or may not have pitchers and catchers.  Possibility of using a pitching machine like Intermediate Play.

    • Positively NO metal spikes are permitted.  Players MUST wear either plastic or rubber cleats while playing on the field

    • Players must supply their own Glove.  Supplying their own Bats and Helmets are recommended but are not mandatory as WACYL has spares.  

Games/Practice days are based on volunteer availability and will not be available until we get closer to the start of the season.

WACYL uses an App for communication for volunteers and parents for all sports seasons.  The App is called Game Changer Team Manager.  Below is the page that links IOS or Android depending on what phone you have.  Everything can also be accessed through Blue Sombrero in the Team Central - Team Directory section.  If you already have the App you can delete previous seasons to make managing current seasons easier.  **The App will not push anything to you until the rosters have been completed, you can sign in using your Sports Connect credentials**

Once the App is open select the parent/player option

There will be a Blue plus button, tap that and import team using Sports Connect.

It should now show your entire team.  You can Message or Email your team through the App.  All messages will show in a group thread or you can message individually if needed.

This is a mandatory way of communication as I am getting away from extra paperwork generated from rosters.  This App will only handle the communication part of the App since the scheduling portion is a complete nightmare as basketball participants this year would agree.  We will also be using Sign Up Genius for WACYL Shack signups just as we did for soccer last season.
